Liquid Lawn FAQs
The best defense against weeds is to cultivate a lush, thick, and healthy lawn.
People tend to fear things that they don’t know or know little about. In fact, many people do not realize that there are chemicals that occur naturally in the environment that can be either harmless or toxic. The important factor that allows our product to be safely used is the dose.
It usually means that they want you to think that they are safer than other lawn care companies. Many lawn care companies use Bridge products, which contain chemical sources of nitrogen and phosphorus combined with reconstituted sewer sludge (biosolids).
Liquid Lawn’s liquid fertilizers are not considered hazardous materials. There is no record of human or pet injury resulting from a Liquid Lawn treatment. Our products are all registered for use on residential lawns and contain many of the same active ingredients as the products you buy at the local nursery or garden store. When used by our licensed specialists, in strict compliance with labeled instructions, our products do not represent any significant threat to your family or pets. While no lawn pest control material may legally be classified as completely safe, our weed and insect controls are termed practically non-toxic, which is the lowest pesticide toxicity classification.
Please follow your Liquid Lawn professional’s written instructions, and stay off a treated lawn until it has dried, or, as an extra precaution, for 24 hours. This will reduce the potential for contact with the material. When the material is applied to a lawn, it dries very quickly. Once the product has dried on the surface of plants, it becomes practically impossible to remove any residue from the surface.
In order to control crabgrass, the product must be applied early in the season to create a barrier which stops crabgrass germination. We recommend applying a pre-emergent before May 15 for best results.

Lawn Care Services FAQs
As soon as the grass is dry, you can let your dog outside. Usually, this is within an hour on a sunny day in Macon.
If the weed control was applied during a light rain, the results should still be satisfactory. The weed control is applied with a material to help it stick to the leaf’s surface before being absorbed through the pores of the leaf. As long as the material is not washed off the leaf, control will occur. If you do not see leaf curling in 10 days, please call our office for a free re-treatment.
Some broadleaf weeds will curl up and die almost immediately and some will take as much as two weeks to die. In any case, if there are still weeds present after two weeks, simply call us and we will come right out and reapply the weed control at no extra charge.
Unfortunately, lawn care is not like switching on a light and having the grass stay green all year. Just like people, lawns need continual feeding. There are fertilizers that feed over longer periods of time, but this is not all our technicians do during a visit. Your lawn technician will check for dry spots or weed problems that need to be kept in check. Additionally, some weeds appear in the spring while other weeds show up in the fall, which means your lawn will require different treatments at different times.
Our liquid weed controls are the most effective available. The weeds begin to curl and disappear within two to three days, but it may take up to two weeks before they are completely gone. Unusually hot weather, a heavy rain within 12 hours of treatment, or mowing immediately after treatment can reduce control. The good news is that as a Liquid Lawn customer, you can simply give us a call and we will be out to retreat your lawn within 48 hours at no extra cost to you!
If your lawn received only a granular fertilizer application, you can begin lawn activity right away. However, if a liquid weed control or insect control was applied, please stay off the grass until the liquid has dried or the insect control is watered into the soil. Depending on the temperature, humidity, and wind, this can take from one to several hours.
For the best results, we advise that you wait 24 hours after a treatment before mowing your lawn. If your mower is set to a higher cut, you can technically mow the same day and still be okay, but waiting 24 hours is best. Find out more about best mowing practices or contact our sister company for a professional landscape maintenance service.

Lush Lawn and Landscaping FAQs
If you can, you should always mulch your clippings. Grass clippings hold a variety of nutrients and moisture, and they will not contribute to thatch.
Yes, watering your lawn after an application is advised but not totally necessary since we put much more water down with our applications than other companies.
The best defense against weeds is to cultivate thick, dense turf. When sunlight is unable to reach the soil, weed seeds can’t germinate. At Liquid Lawn, our fertilizers are carefully chosen and applied at the correct time to improve turf density and to protect against weeds before they appear.
Our standard lawn program treats your lawn on average every six to seven weeks. This provides the ideal protection for your lawn.
In the extreme weather patterns we experience in Macon, Georgia, you will need to adjust your irrigation throughout the year. We provide all of our clients with watering instructions to be sure that their irrigation is set correctly. We also send a weekly gardening video with tips that advise you when to adjust your irrigation system. Be sure to check our advice on watering your lawn.
Discolored or strange spots could indicate that your yard has an insect or fungus problem. You should call the office as soon as possible so that we can diagnose and treat the problem.
Yes, there is usually an extra charge for fungicide and insecticide lawn care treatments unless you are on our proactive lawn treatment program.

No, we use only professional and highly effective lawn care materials in our treatments.
Many dog owners get frustrated by the spots their pets leave on the lawn when they go to the bathroom. There aren’t many ways to avoid this other than training your dog to only go in one area of the lawn. The problem is that the high quantity of salt in the dog’s urine essentially burns the turf. If this is a problem you’d like to eliminate, contact your veterinarian to see if they recommend a product to reduce the amount of salt in your dog’s urine.
Just because a front yard and backyard are on the same property, there’s no guarantee they will have the same problems. There can be any number of reasons for this. Perhaps the airflow isn’t as good in the backyard because there is a fence and a more significant landscape there. Maybe the grass or soil in the front yard is different from what’s in the backyard. Any of these differences could lead to problems in one area but not the other.
Yes. Any lawn care company that applies pesticides is legally required to be licensed by the state in which they apply the pesticides.
We perform specific tasks during each visit. Our lawn care equipment is calibrated to provide the proper rate of application, resulting in an efficient use of our time. When we are out on your lawn, we inspect the turf for potentially damaging insects, weeds, or diseases. We also note your cultural practices and leave information for your review. In addition to the inspections completed upon each visit, depending on location, we complete a free midsummer inspection with a written report left for review by the homeowner. The value you receive is in the results and information. Your satisfaction is guaranteed!
It all comes down to really advanced equipment and highly trained lawn care experts. The correct walking speed for liquid applications is 2.8 mph (yes, we’re that precise about things). If our technicians walk too slowly, too much product is applied. Walking speed, along with factors like arm swing motion and spray pattern, allow our technicians to treat your lawn in a short amount of time.
